By God’s grace, Evangelical churches in the London Diocese have transformed communities and impacted nations for decades. We have launched networks, founded theological colleges, raised up thousands of church leaders, authored books and courses, spearheaded evangelistic campaigns, sown and reaped faithfully, prayed and seen hundreds of thousands converted to follow Jesus.

In the early days of John Stott we were the faithful few, known to each other and well networked. Now, praise God, we have grown large in number, spread right across the Diocese, through church plants parishes, sector ministry and in key Diocesan lay and ordained positions. In God’s mercy we are no longer a small minority, but an incredible force for Kingdom good and Gospel ministry.

With so much growth, it had become easier and easier to lose contact with each other. We have our own smaller network streams, local contacts and key friends. These are an enormous blessing, but there was a desire for these ‘streams to flow as one river’, and for churches and leaders to begin to work together, to bless, encourage and strengthen our diocese. Many other dioceses around England had an Evangelical Fellowship, but there was not one in London.

It was this desire that saw the launch of LonDEN (London Diocesan Evangelical Network) in early 2020. Since then we have gathered together, in person and on Zoom, to discuss and pray, and unite in our desire for Biblical teaching in the church to allow mission and evangelism to flourish.
